Childrens After-School Program

Clear Reflection Counseling Associates is happy to introduce our Children's After-School Program in hopes to help fill a major void in child and family behavioral healthcare.

Our after school intensive outpatient program is designed for children, and the families of children, between the ages of 6 and 11 years old who are experiencing behavioral health challenges more difficult than once per week individual therapy or other traditional outpatient services can support. The IOP program may be a good fit for kids who are having trouble managing daily stressors or who require additional support outside of school but who are still able to attend school.

The goal of our program is to support children and families in helping guide them towards achieving more harmony and balance within the household, in school, and in the community while also being as least disruptive to daily life as possible. Children can attend normal school days and most after school activities while still engaging in this highly supportive therapeutic program.

Our format is based in group therapy approach with the intention of developing positive, pro-social, and healthy relationships and connections with peers, parents, and other adults. The basic structure of the program is made up of:

  • therapeutic process and psychoeducational groups

  • experiential therapies such as movement, mindfulness, and animal assisted therapy with our in house therapy dog, Indie!

  • age-appropriate life skills groups

  • arts & crafts, board games, outdoor, and other recreational activities

  • case management and collateral contact with school and other providers

  • individual one-on-one check ins with counselors

  • parent and family education and support groups

The program meets three times a week, on Tuesday and Thursday, and Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm and our Parent and Family Group meets on Tuesday from 5:30pm - 6:30pm at our 335 Nashua St. Milford, NH location. Healthy snacks and drinks are provided daily to children in the program as well as coffee, tea, water, and snacks in Parents and Family Group.

Most commercial insurance and all NH Medicaid plans are accepted for the children’s program.
